... Christmas! I have to admit that I had a bit of a tough time getting my head around the latest theme at Merry Monday. Being a born and bred New England girl, I'm highly partial to classic Christmas scenes in my seasonal cards. So it took me a couple of days to figure out how to tackle this challenge.
Here's what I came up with:
Using an SVG cut file from My Scrap Chick, I cut all of the pieces with my Silver Bullet Digital cutter. I used its print and cut capabilities to add the Santa and sleigh to the moon. I highlighted each of the pieces with Distress Inks, and added an extra layer of waves to the background using the off cut as a stencil. I popped up some of the palm tree pieces with foam dots. To give the moon some dimension, I shaped it with my largest round stylus, and popped it with more foam squares.
I have to say that I really enjoyed stepping out of my "Christmas comfort zone" for this challenge!
I wish everyone a fabulous weekend!
